Hello Beautiful Souls- I am always curious as to the timing of certain memories and how they are linked to my current life events, so I dig. I love the digging, the act of turning over the soil to uncover the deep, dark, rich abundant earthy answers. I trust, I always trust what comes as I follow the internal nudge. I have paid attention to and practiced this internal guidance long enough to know that it is true and right within my soul. So I go, like the student needing the master, I go.
Tarot has been around since the late 14th and early 15th centuries. Arcana means “secret.” The major arcana denote important life events, while the minor arcana reflect day-to-day events. The major arcana cards are life changing events that will have a long term influence. There is a natural progression that denotes the twenty two majors that are key to life’s triumphs, one building and progressing to the next. Just as everything is energy, tarot holds a secret energy that unfolds as the reader uses their intuitive skills to receive the messages and share the download of information based on the signs and symbols that hold significance for them.
When I started receiving messages and experiencing odd images and peculiar happenings during meditation, I was not sure what I was supposed to do with the information so I turned to a friend, an intuitive medium for answers. She explained that she started understanding her gifts and honing her craft using tarot cards and invited me to a tarot reading class. I had to get answers to understand what was happening and eventually begin to connect the dots for myself, so began my study and work with tarot.
While looking at the image of a young child seated on top of a white horse with 4 sunflowers just beneath them I closed my eyes and attempt to make a connection with the card and its imagery. The following is a record of an intense download of imagery and sensory information I received while working with number XIX, the Sun.
I am physically seated outside. It is a beautiful, peaceful, bright sunshiny July morning. After holding the card and studying the images, I close my eyes and allow whatever comes to come. Although the actual sun is shining brightly, as I close my eyes, there is a shadowy darkness. My eyes sense something blocking the sun, as if someone has stepped directly in front of me. It becomes very dark and I have a heavy feeling. In that moment, almost instantaneously, I can physically feel my nose plug up. I feel the water as it enters my nostrils and I can taste it slides down the back of my throat. It’s not chlorinated water, its lake water. In the next moment, I am transported to a favorite childhood spot where my family spent fun-filled lazy summer days basking in the sun, swimming and collecting tadpoles. My dad is playfully chasing me and my sisters along the shoreline. We are squealing because we know when he catches us we will be thrown into the water. For me, this is both fun and terrifying. I hate this feeling but I enjoy the attention, so I play. He grabs my arm and leg on my right side and I am airborne and without enough time to get my hand to my nose, the water rushes in blocking my airway.
Much like your five physical senses: seeing, hearing, touching, tasting and smelling. You also have the potential to experience eight “clair” senses or spiritual psychic senses. Clairvoyance (clear seeing) Claircognizance (clear knowing) Clairaudience (clear hearing) Clairempathy (clear emotional feeling) Clairsentience (clear physical feeling) Clairtangency (clear touching) Clairsalience (clear smelling) Clairgustance (clear tasting)http://wisdomwithin.co/files/The-8-Clair-Senses-a-visual-guide-to-the-spiritual-psychic-senses.pdf
I believe The Sun played a pivotal role in guiding me to the abundance of my gifts. This was the first time I experienced an actual taste and smell intuitively. It was quite bizarre but so cool at the same time! I believe this childhood memory involving water (which symbolizes emotion) came to remind me to go with the flow of life and know that I always have support. The feeling and taste of water in my nose reminds me of the many times I was not prepared, got thrown in over my head and came out unscathed. Seeing the child on the card evoked some fond childhood memories of a place and time that was happy and carefree.

The Sun gives you strength and tells you that no matter where you go or what you do, your positive and radiant energy will follow you and bring you happiness and joy. People are drawn to you because you can always see the bright side and bring such warmth into other people’s lives. This beautiful, warm energy is what will get you through the tough times and help you succeed. You are also in a position where you can share your highest qualities and achievements with others. Radiate who you are and what you stand for; shine your love on those you care about.
This morning as I pulled cards for my daily reading, I flipped over The Sun and I could feel the smile beam across my face. I love this card. It feels wholesome and good. It reminds me of those carefree childhood days. It reminds me of the abundance of love and support I feel unconditionally and continually from my family and friends, my tribe and this beautiful universe.
The curious thing about my interest in tarot is that I purchased a deck, played around a bit with them and then forgot about them. When the class invitation came, I was prepared and I laughed as I thought, “Now isn’t that a coincidence?” I am grateful to have been introduced to tarot cards. They have proven to have a significant impact on my intuitive abilities and have helped to define my gifts. I am grateful for the people in my life who have taught me how to use them and also for the artist of my favorite deck that speaks to me more clearly than any other deck has to date.
Be well my friends. Stay Curious. Grab a deck and start playing. Feel the energy of the messages that are waiting for you.
