My RX for Fear

Hello Beautiful Souls- RX is defined as a recipe or a form of instruction that governs a plan of care. With the recent announcement of the COVID-19 being classified as a pandemic, I feel a calling to my tribe to invite stillness and to introduce calm and peace into your lives. A pandemic by definition means that a disease is prevalent over a whole country or world. The media is well-rehearsed in engaging our fear and instilling panic to the masses. In the midst of the chaos, I am able to connect with a higher consciousness and breathe in serenity. I am inviting all of you to do the same.

We all have the ability to find our own calm, to activate our parasympathetic nervous system and restore our innate ability to gain inner peace and calm. We can release positive energy around us and continue to invite this same energy toward us. We can activate the parasympathetic nervous system by becoming mindful of our breath. By consciously becoming aware of our breath, we can slow it down. A simple tool and a powerful resource that is at your disposal 24/7. And the exciting news is that you can do this while driving, during your working hours or in the middle of your crowded chaos, wherever that is for you. Simply engage in the activity of being aware of your triggers. First become aware of your thoughts. Are they fear-based? Have you slipped into being afraid of what may happen? Does it feel out of your control? Relax and reclaim your stillness and breathe. You can use this simple practice to slow your heart rate and relax all of the muscles in your body. Your breath will engage the most important muscle of all, your heart. This technique is simple and it is always available to you. Your breathing is a resource and a tool that can turn into a skill. That skill can become a practice that will promote your overall health and well-being.

This is my holistic prescription for finding your center. This simple RX will activate the parasympathetic nervous system and ignite an overall feeling of stillness and serenity.

  1. Notice your thoughts as soon as they begin to feel chaotic.
  2. Ask yourself, “Are my thoughts useful to me? Are my thoughts serving my greatest good? Are my thoughts loving and kind to me and to others?”
  3. Change fear to love. Have compassion and care for yourself. Have compassion and care towards others.
  4. By changing fear-based thoughts to love-based thoughts, you have activated your heart. You have actively taken control of your ego by placing it aside and you have changed your energy to reflect your heart’s needs and desires.
  5. Breathe
  6. Breathe in for a count of 8. Hold your breath at the top of your head for a count of 4 and slowly exhale for a count of 10.
  7. Repeat this at least 5 times. Repeat until you feel a physical relaxation occur. Repeat until your shoulders fall away from your ears. Repeat until your facial muscles relax. Repeat until the tension leaves all of the muscles throughout your body. Repeat until you feel your heart rate slowly decrease. Repeat until you feel peace and calm return to you.
  8. With your heart calm, you are perfectly situated to receive love and gratitude.
  9. Take this opportunity to be mindful of all that you have. All the things to be grateful for in your life.
  10. Thank yourself for paying attention to your basic needs. Feel gratitude for your body and everything it does for you each and every day. Feel gratitude for the abundance in your life. Feel gratitude for your spirit and your soul. Feel gratitude for everyone that shines their beautiful energy to you and illuminates your path. Feel gratitude for your healers and teachers. Feel gratitude for your wisdom. Feel gratitude for your health and well-being.

Let’s take a moment and decide what is best for us and for others. Set healthy boundaries for yourself. Set boundaries to promote your health. Step away from the fear that is being dished out on a regular basis. Set boundaries for what you listen to and believe. Use common sense in your common everyday practices. All you need to do is pay attention and clear out old beliefs and patterns that no longer serve you. Let’s engage in our individual authentic genius and creativity. Your thoughts are the powerhouse to your healing and happiness. Engage in your personal desires to design a life full of gratitude and love. Let gratitude and love be the foundation of everything you believe in and you will receive the future you’ve envisioned for yourself.

Activate stillness and find your true bliss.

Be aware. Be mindful. Breathe. Be authentically you. Be in gratitude. Be in love. Be well.
