Happy New Year Beautiful Souls-With 2023 in our rearview mirror, we can look forward to 2024 with shiny enthusiasm for our hopes, dreams, goals, and good intentions. Whether you call it New Year’s resolutions or choose to set achievable alternatives in the coming year, we all feel we can use a fresh start beginning January 1st.

For me it comes down to a life review of the past year which helps me to choose and meet achievable alternatives for the coming year.

This is simply a review of your life experiences in 2023. It is a mindful practice to take time to get quiet, get centered, and get clear.

Relax and reflect on your challenges and improvements.

Did you honor healthy boundaries? Where did you fall short? Did you honor your sensitive nature? Did you overcome fear? Were you quick to blame or did you take an opportunity to reflect on your behavior?

Did you ignore your intuition? What loss or heartbreak did you experience? Did you remember to practice soul care? Is there something you need to apologize for? Is there someone that you need to forgive? Perhaps that someone is you.

When did you go unconscious?

We all make mistakes, and even with the best intentions, we are all capable of being triggered, which leads us to fall into old behaviors and patterns. We spend time in our heads worrying about the past and feeling unsure about our future. But all we really need to do is to reside in the present moment, breathing, trusting, and living.

Easier said than done.

But, like all things that we strive to accomplish, practice is our ally. Practice makes habits, so with the intention of setting healthy habits for 2024, we can trust that when we are mindfully paying attention to what our minds, bodies, and spirits need, we can trade out those old, rusty habits and replace them with habits that support our hearts and our truth. And that, my friends, is called mind and body coherence.

Coherence- the quality of forming a unified whole.

And isn’t that what we are striving for? To feel whole, in both mind and body.

Take time to sit quietly and do a life review of 2023 for yourself. Allow yourself to be a neutral observer and simply notice all your experiences so that you can make necessary adjustments for a healthier you in 2024.
